The Living Desert Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, which spans across 180 hectares, is nestled among the Barrier Ranges and is protected by an electric predator-proof fence. This sanctuary has been thoughtfully designed to offer visitors a unique insight into the local flora, fauna, and Aboriginal culture.
Visitors can explore the breathtaking sanctuary via numerous walking trails, with close encounters with wildlife and stunning views from lookout points.
The Starview Campsite, opened in 2017, offers unpowered RV sites and a large tent site in a serene location. Visitors must pay a $6 entry fee per person at the entrance, with additional camping fees paid at the Visitor Information Centre before arrival. The Living Desert also features a recreational picnic area with free gas barbecues, accessible toilets, and a strict no pets policy, except for guide dogs.
