White’s Mineral Art and Mining Museum

White’s Mineral Art and Mining Museum

White’s Mineral Art and Mining Museum, an iconic landmark in Broken Hill, has reopened to the public just in time for the school holidays. The museum had been closed since the passing of its revered owner and local artist Kevin ‘Bushy’ White, but is now under the caretaker leadership of Larry Angell.

The museum proudly showcases a unique collection of over 400 mineral artworks created by the late Mr. White, an abundance of mining history and scenery, and one of the largest doll collections in the region.

Visitors will be treated to hundreds of mining scenes depicting the way mining was done in the past and present, as well as mining memorabilia throughout the museum. Mr. Angell, who has experience working underground in the mines and as a former tour guide at the Royal Flying Doctors, is continuing the tradition of providing in-depth talks to visitors about the artwork, memorabilia, and dioramas on display.

The museum is open Thursday through Monday from 10am until 2pm, with half-price entry during the school holidays. Mr. Angell is flexible with opening times and can be contacted for visits outside of these hours.

White’s Mineral Art and Mining Museum invites everyone to come and experience the rich history and unique artwork on display.
