Mundi Mundi Bash 2023: A Desert Extravaganza of Aussie Music and Talent

Australia’s Unforgettable Desert Music Festival

As the sun sets on the vast outback of New South Wales, anticipation mounts for the upcoming Mundi Mundi Bash, set to be the grandest musical extravaganza the region has ever witnessed. Organisers are putting the final touches on what promises to be an unforgettable event, featuring a stellar lineup of renowned Australian musicians, all ready to rock it in the heart of the desert. With names like ICEHOUSE, Hoodoo Gurus, Dragon, Thirsty Merc and Human Nature, the Mundi Mundi Plains will come alive with the rhythm of music, drawing in music enthusiasts and intrepid travellers from across the country and beyond. This year’s three-day festival, from August 17th to 19th, is the brainchild of Greg Donovan, the visionary founder and organiser, and it’s shaping up to be a celebration like no other.

The Mundi Mundi Bash has quickly established itself as a must-attend event on the Australian music calendar, thanks to its unique location and vibrant atmosphere. Situated just past Silverton and 40km north of Broken Hill, the vastness of the Mundi Mundi Plains provides the perfect backdrop for an awe-inspiring festival. Against this breathtaking setting, iconic artists like Human Nature, Kate Ceberano and The Angels will unite to deliver soul-stirring performances that will resonate with the expected 10,000-strong crowd of music enthusiasts and adventurers alike.

As the final preparations are made for this year’s festival, the excitement is palpable. The journey to bring the Mundi Mundi Bash to life has not been without its challenges. Founder Greg Donovan’s unwavering determination saw the event through its inaugural year and a 2021 cancellation, resulting in two Mundi Mundi Bash events. Now, as the third edition unfolds, the festival has garnered overwhelming support, with tickets sold out well in advance.

A limited number of ‘locals only’ day tickets are now available for Broken Hill residents to attend the Bash. These special single-day tickets are exclusively open to Broken Hill residents, requiring photo ID and proof of local residence for the exchange of e-tickets into festival wristbands at the ticketing office located at the Broken Hill Racecourse. The ticket office will be open from Monday, August 14, to Friday, August 18, from 9 am to 5 pm, and on Saturday, August 19, from 9 am to 3 pm, just prior to the event at ‘Mundiville’.

While the ‘locals only’ tickets don’t include on-site camping, day parking is available for ticket holders at the Mundiville event site, conveniently located 400 meters from the main concert area. Ticket prices for adults are $189, $39 for 12-17-year-olds, and children under 11 can enjoy free entry.
