It all started in 1965 when local trainer John Toms sought to boost the racing scene in Broken Hill and support the struggling Catholic schools in the area. Fast forward to today, and the St Pat’s Race Meeting has become a thriving event with sporting clubs, charity organizations, and local businesses coming together to offer their services on race day. The outcome of the event benefits not only the Catholic schools, but also other non-profit organizations in the area.
